February Aerial Show Auditions

Hi all,

We have seen the excitement about our February show growing already and are eager to get started too! With that being said, our theme for this show will be, drumroll please… Love Through the Ages, and our shows will be February 22 and 23 We want to explore all types of love, including but not limited to, love for life, love from our parents, and the more classis romantic love. While we can’t wait to see what you all come up with in the way of solos, we already have some important dates set for our group pieces. We will have five group pieces and you are welcome to audition for up to 2 of these pieces, as well as a solo.

Group piece auditions will take place on Saturday, December 21 (specific audition times are listed below along with descriptions of each piece and rehearsal times) come prepared to move and we will have choreography prepared to teach you! Solos will audition the afternoon of January 25th. We will have time to warm up and for you to run through small chunks of choreography, but because this date is less than a month prior to our show, we will expect to see at least one full run through by each performer that evening. We are so excited to see what you all come up with! It is free to audition.

All group piece rehearsals will take place weekly on Sundays starting December 29 and running through February 16. As each group will have 8 weeks of rehearsal, these rehearsals can be paid for as an 8 week session or with aerial enthusiast memberships, assuming the membership holder is not already attending 3 classes/week. As always, solos will be self-choreographed but private lessons can be requested with Ava or Maebelle for lyra solos and Maebelle or DeAnna for silks or hammock solos, feel free to reach out at any time to schedule these, however, coaches make their own schedule for privates, and some schedule coordination may be necessary. 

Group Piece Information and Audition Sign ups

Youth Hammock: Comfortable Love

• Audition time: 2:00pm, Dec 21

• Eligibility: Any students in Youth Beginning Hammock 1-3 are invited and encouraged to audition for this piece!

• Rehearsal times: 12:00pm every Sunday, December 29-Feb 16

• Piece Information: This piece will focus on the love that we receive from our parents and closest friends. It will be a jazz/swing dance style, but prior experience with this genre is not required as all choreography will be taught in rehearsals.

Advanced Hammock: Love Within

• Audition time: 2:50pm, Dec 21

• Eligibility: Any students in Adult Beginning 3 or Continuing 1 Hammock are invited and encouraged to audition for this piece!

• Rehearsal times: 1:00pm every Sunday, December 29-Feb 16

• Piece Information: This piece will focus on looking beyond the surface to love ourselves and others for character rather than appearance. This piece will feature aspects of salsa and hip hop dance, no prior experience required in this genre however because all choreography will be taught in rehearsals.

Youth Lyra: Young Love

• Audition time: 3:40pm, Dec 21

• Eligibility: Students in Youth Continuing 1 Lyra are invited and encouraged to audition for this piece!

• Rehearsal times: 3:00pm every Sunday, December 29-Feb 16

• Piece Information: This piece will focus on appreciating our youth for its freedom and the opportunities that seem endless at a young age. It will be a classic flow style of movement and all choreography will be taught in rehearsals. 

Adult Lyra: No Strings Attached

• Audition time: 4:30pm, Dec 21

• Eligibility: Adult students with comfort in spins, below, in, and above the lyra, and cartwheels on both sides are invited to audition for this piece!

• Rehearsal times: 4:00pm every Sunday, December 29-Feb 16

• Piece Information: This piece will focus on the short and sweet loves in life, those temporary moments of connection. All choreography will be taught in rehearsals so just come ready to move, learn, and have a good time!

Advanced Silks: More Than Love

• Audition time: 5:20pm, Dec 21

• Eligibility: Any students in Continuing 2 level silks or above are invited and encouraged to audition for this piece!

• Rehearsal times: 2:00pm every Sunday, December 29-Feb 16

• Piece Information: This piece will focus on how blissful seemingly mundane activities can be when you’re spending time with the one that you love. This piece will be in a funk/soul style with lots of fun silks play, come ready to move and learn.
