Silks Splitty Sequences
Join us for Silks Splitty Sequences, a workshop hosted by Katie in the Sky at Inspired Aerial Arts. This workshop is all about mastering dynamic, splitty shapes and flowing transitions that will make your sequences pop! Whether you're looking to add flair to your performances or simply love finding that new, perfect split, this is your chance to get bendy and creative in the air.
Expect to dive into innovative sequences that emphasize smooth, eye-catching transitions while building strength and flexibility. Katie’s expert tips will help you refine your technique, unlock new shapes, and feel more confident in your flow. Come ready to play, stretch, and split your way to stunning silks combos!
Level & Prerequisites: Students must be able to consistently do aerial inversions, climb, and understand basic aerial theory. Students should be able to stay in the air for at least two minutes at any given time.
Katie Critzer (also known at Katie in the Sky) is the Co-Owner and Head Aerial Silks coach at South Dakota Aerial & Arts and Founder of the Dakota Aerial Championship in Sioux Falls South Dakota. She was a lifelong gymnast and has been practicing aerial arts since 2017.
She is passionate about making aerial arts classes and performances accessible and fun for individuals of all levels, ages, and abilities. She co-founded Sioux Falls' first circus performance group in 2020 and has brought the joy of aerial arts to hundreds of different events and venues across the Midwest. Her aerial performance group was named Best New Business by 605 Magazine in 2021.
She has won multiple awards for her aerial performances, including Best Variety Act for aerial doubles, 1st place in Aerial Silks and Hammock at the Black Hills Aerial Cup, and various first and second place awards in All-Star Aerial Silks at Aerialympics and Aerial Star. She now helps judge for Aerialympics and is part of the United Circus Arts Network committee working to standardize aerial arts. She was also named one of Sioux Falls' 2023 30 Under 30, and was in the 2022 cohort of CoStarters through Start Up Sioux Falls.
Katie loves to share her aerial performances, technique tips and interesting pathways on her Instagram page, where she has over 25k followers. She loves how supportive the online aerial community is and has loved making connections across the country. She has coached various workshops across the U.S. and looks forward to continuing to travel and share her aerial expertise. She loves creating new aerial silks moves, helping beginners discover their passion for aerial fitness, and being your (tough but kind) cheerleader.
Katie professionally performs aerial silks, partner acrobatics, aerial hoop, trapeze, lollipop lyra, aerial doubles (straps, silks, and hoop), specialty apparatuses,s and fire dancing.

Join us in this 1 hour 45 minute workshop breaking down some fun and unique pathways and flows with John Hernandez.
John Hernandez is an accomplished aerialist based out of the Pacific Northwest where he’s been working his craft since 2007. His skills have been shown in the Portland OR area, Seattle and Spokane, WA as well as Kansas City, MO. While performing has always been a great outlet, John has spent most of his time developing his skills and passion as an instructor. Working with Night Flight Aerial and Echo Theater Company in Portland, OR. he focuses on establishing a good foundation, fundamental techniques, working step by step progressions to help with strength and confidence building.
Adult Aerial Arts Try it Night
This once a month event gives absolute beginners the opportunity to try their hand at aerial arts. This event offers an introduction to silks, hammock and lyra in this 1 hour and 15 minute class. $15

Love Through the Ages Student Showcase
Love through the ages is a celebration and reflection on love through all ages and stages. Join us in this students showcase featuring students of all levels and ages showing us their thoughts and interpretation on love though solos and group work. Please note, the Saturday and Sunday shows will have different line ups of performers, so please make sure you have know which show to watch if you are coming to watch somebody specific!

This once a month event gives absolute beginners the opportunity to try their hand at aerial arts. This event offers an introduction to silks, hammock and lyra in this 1 hour and 15 minute class. $15
This try it night is designed for adults! Please no kiddos at this one!
Youth Aerial Arts Try it Night
This Aerial Arts Try it Night will give kids ages 7-12 the opportunity to try aerial arts! Youth will sample Aerial Silks, hammock , and lyra in this 1 hour and 15 minute sampler class! Come prepared to learn a lot of new things, try hard, and have fun! We recommend wearing leggings and a leotard or form fitting shirt, or one that can be tucked in, as we will be going upside down! Bring a water bottle, and an awesome attitude! We can't wait to fly with you!
Handstand Technique and Inverted shapes
Ava will be hosting a total of 4 handstand workshops Jan 11, 12, 18, and 19th! The idea here is to give everyone multiple days to practice and repeat drills for improvement over the 4 classes. Participants are welcome to sign up for an individual session, book an entire weekend, or book both weekends!
Learn drills and techniques to develop inverted spatial awareness and alignment for fabulous handstand technique!
This second weekend is geared towards handstands and inverted shapes.
$50/single class, $80/weekend

Vertical Dynamics: Pop through Sequencing
Learn to work smarter, not harder. In this workshops, we’ll break down the fundamental elements of swinging around on silks and rope. We’ll discuss “beats body” alignment, dissect direction changes, and play through some of Sam’s favorite transitions. We’ll explore how we can use our breath to cultivate a sense of ease.
Please remove all jewelry and zippered clothing. Bring a water bottle, and be ready to work hard!
$50. Recommended Continuing II or beyond in ability. Aerial Enthusiast memberships may not be used for this workshop.
Handstand Technique
Join Ava Kinsland in this one hour workshop tackling hand balancing and inversion techniques on the ground. She will cover multiple drills and progressions geared towards finding balance upside down.

Join Ava in this fun exploratory workshop in which we get to try out all the fun and unique apparati. The sphere, the trapeze, flying pole, maybe some straps? Either way, it'll be super fun!

Aerial Photoshoot Workshop
This is your chance to get some proffesional aerial photos taken! Participants will get time to warm up, and each get a 15 minute photography window with our photographer. Photos will be digitally sent to participants after the event. Come in attire you would like to be photographed in, with full hair and makeup done.
$40 per participant includes proffessionally edited images
Inversion Workshop
Join Ava this Saturday for all things hand balancing. Come ready to hone in your balance in this 1.5 hour workshop focused on building strength and technique in your hand balancing and inversion based skills. All levels welcome!

Hot Air Balloon Fest Performance
We will be performing at 3pm and 5pm at Z&M Twisted Vines during their fall hot air balloon festival. This spooky themed performance will feature students who have been working diligently on creating their very own Halloween themed performance on silks, lyra, or hammock!
After our performances, and when the sun sets is when the hot air balloons come out! (Sunset is currently 6:41pm) If you plan to stay to watch the balloons, we recommend bringing a lawn chair or blankets to lay out!

Join Ava Kinsland and Maebelle Hamlin in a double hoop workshop! Learn to coordinate movement with a partner as you navigate some fun partner hoop skills! This workshop is an hour and a half and is designed for students who have learned their lyra basics, however, those who are comfortable on other apparati are welcome to join!
Hand Balancing and Inversions
Join Ava in this 1.5 hour workshop tackling techniques and drills to get those inversions on the ground!
Single Foot Locks Mini Series
This 3 class series will cover a wide array of skills you can do from a single footlock with both poles tied in. This is the first of our "skill family series" and we are so excited!
To sign up for this 3 class workshop, aerialist must be able to tie a single footlock, and remain in the air for at least 1 minute.
Designed for aerialists at the beginning 2 level and beyond.
